JVC Boombox - JVC KS-SB200 Review

Thinking of getting the JVC Boombox KS-SB200? Then you'll know that it's designed for the JVC SR2000 Sirius Satellite Radio receiver. What you may not know, however, is that it has aux ports which allow you to play any music through it through any source, making the JVC Boombox KS-SB200 a universal boombox speaker deck. And not just that, it looks pretty good too. We took it upon ourselves to see what this product was made of.

First up, it's sturdy, which is a good thing with stuff designed to be sued anywhere. On our "road test", the JVC Boombox KS-SB200 survived several beer spillage incidents and was knocked over several times without a scratch. But what about the meat and potatoes? Well, the sound is generally very good. There's a wide stereo range, with a deep, rrich bass response thanks to the BASS MAX circuit pioneered by JVC. It goes loud, really loud. Hopefully louder than you will ever need, unless you really hate your parents that is.

For digital radio, when the JVC Boombox KS-SB200 is docked with the JVC SR2000 Sirius Satellite Radio receiver, there's a great weather proof antenna with excellent signal pickup. The cradle interface works very well. It's easy to handle on the go, and responds well to the heat of the sun. Of course, you can use it inside with the AC adapter, if you like to stay inside during the summer. For outdoors, you'll need 8 x D batteries.

We were very impressed with the JVC Boombox KS-SB200 - great look, great sound, great features. It's highly recommended. And remember, it's an all purpose speaker deck. You don't need the JVC SR2000 Sirius Satellite Radio receiver, although they are a fantastic combination.
